    Works great!
The sunrise brightness helps wake me up in the mornings, especially when it’s dark and cloudy, or early. There’s not many sounds to choose from, but the ones they have are good. It’s simple and easy to set up and use.

    Nice, gradual awakening to light
I’ve been using this alarm clock for about two months now and it is wonderful. My favorite feature is that you can set the gradual light brightening at a predetermined about of time before the alarm clock goes off. This prevents me from waking suddenly by my alarm and feeling groggy. Instead, i slowly wake up as i subconsciously notice is getting brighter in my room. I’m happy I had this during the first day of daylight savings as it was pitch black during my normal alarm time, but I woke up gradually and adjusted to the dark thanks to the light. It also has a great wind-down feature for before bed that you can put a timer, sound, and color to. I’ve never felt better than falling asleep to a pretty color and the gentle sound of waves. It was super easy to set up and go through all the different wake up and wind down alarms. I only gave it 4 stars though because, for me, some of the colors were too bright and some of the noises too jarring for me to wake up or fall asleep to; and I will always use the gradual light brightening to wake up instead of any of the other pre-set colors. But once I found the couple of colors and sounds that I liked out of the many choices, I don’t see myself changing it up that often. The alarm clock does not also run on batteries but you can also remotely turn any features on and off with the app connected to this alarm clock, and I like that feature. Totally worth it in the end.

Love this alarm clock, works well and looks nice
We got this sunrise alarm clock for our son to help him understand when it’s time to wake up and when he needs to stay in bed a little longer. The Reacher R7APP sunrise alarm clock looks very similar to the more expensive name-brand versions with its design, but this one is plastic and feels a bit cheaper. I honestly don’t care about that since it’s for my kiddo, and the no subscription requirement is a huge plus. The functionality of it is pretty simple and the app was easy to set up and use. It hasn’t been glitchy so far. The brightness works well for the sunrise wake-up feature, and I like that there are multiple noise options and colors. The sound quality is good for an alarm.Overall it does what it’s supposed to do and feels like good value for the money compared to the much more expensive competitors.

Doesn’t play all night thru sleep routine…
The description makes it sound like you can seamlessly play a sleep routine by just hitting start. However it requires you to hit a button on device for every part of the sleep routine…. I sent it back and ordered a hatch ….

    Fully equipped
I have been wanting one of these from the top brand but I was not able to excuse the cost. This one is just as good, I imagine. I mean, it does everything I would want it to do. It has different color features and sounds. You have to download an app to control the extra features, but no biggie. It looks and functions great! It is quite loud, the light definitely helps to add to the wake up routine. I do wanna say the app is a little tricky to figure out at first, but once you get rolling you get to discover everything you can set up.

Nice design and features, but very app dependent
I bought this clock for a bedroom in our house that different people use, and I was hoping it would work more like a simple hotel or guest room alarm clock. While it does a lot of things well, it ended up not being the best fit for that type of setup. The clock itself looks sleek and modern, and the build quality feels solid. It plugs in with a standard 5V power cord, connects to Wi-Fi through the Tuya app, and automatically sets the time, which is convenient. It has good brightness, nice sound options, and the sunrise light feature with adjustable colors is pleasant and gentle. The clock keeps accurate time, and overall the lighting and sound features work exactly as advertised.Where it falls short for me is usability without the app. Although the listing mentions local button control, the physical buttons only let you do very basic things like turning sounds or lights on and off. Any real changes, such as setting or adjusting alarm times or schedules, must be done through the app. Even switching from 24-hour time to 12-hour time is buried pretty deep in the app settings. There is no way to fully set or change alarms directly on the clock itself. For a single user who plans to set everything once and manage it from their phone, this would probably be a great option. In a shared or guest room where different people need to set their own alarms, it becomes frustrating and impractical.Overall, it’s a well-made and good-looking clock with nice features, but it is far more app dependent than I expected. Four stars because it works well for the right person, just not for my specific use case.

  9. Just some Canadian

This clock works well as a night light and as a more gentle wake-up alarm. You can set up however many night and morning light and sound combinations in the app, and then you have them saved and ready to activate. Overall, I feel like it’s good quality (it’s all plastic but the parts seem to be well made and fit together nicely) and the app makes its use very customizable. I thought it was just a wake-up alarm alternative, but it’s that and a sound machine for going to sleep and a night light all in one.I’m someone whose sleep has gotten out of whack at times so I like the light to wake up as that goes with your circadian rhythms. I’ve also had issues with my iPhone alarm going off without any sound randomly and inconsistently doing so, so I’m at the point of not trusting it and so now prefer a separate alarm device.I’m a side sleeper so I sleep facing it most nights and I’ve found that the light wakes me up before the sound does. I hate the sound of a traditional alarm so I really like that. The wake-up process lets you add any of its sounds to the end of the light effect. So, you can also add a traditional alarm sound if you still want that, or you can select one of the other sound options. I have it set to one that sounds like birds in nature so that it’s less jarring.By default the sunrise effect is set to gradually brighten over half an hour but you can change the duration. You can als adjust the color or brightness. I’ve left it to the default and the sunlike color. If you have a sound set with it, the sound only begins at the time the “alarm” is set for, which is at the end of the brightening duration. So, if you set an alarm for 7am and it’s left at the default half hour to brighten, the light starts (dimly) at 6:30am and reaches its brightest at 7am, and the sound starts at 7am.I’ve played around with the nighttime stuff a bit too. I don’t usually put on white noise to sleep, but I was impressed by how many options there are. There are several options for each of the noise colors, then a whole list of different fans (like antique fan, microwave fan, etc) and then a section of nature sounds. I prefer the nature sounds so have set up presets with rain sounds and ocean sounds. What I wish existed in the sleep options was the ability to either tell it to run a sequence of the little presets or the ability to tell it to turn off the light after a certain duration that is separate from the sound duration. I’d like to be able to have a light turn off after a little bit but the sound keep lulling me to sleep.I will also note that the light can be turned on in the typical range of LED colors. The variety is nice for just “fun lighting” purposes but I appreciate the red for bed time. Red is the best option for light exposure before sleep if you want a light on, so that’s what I put on now; I find it’s enough light for us to get settled in bed and it’s gentle on the eyes. I do wish that there were a plain old “turn light on” in a particular color button in the app. I made one by creating a preset that is the red light only, but need to set a duration for any of those presets so it’s not strictly an on button with that auto-shutoff built in.Finally a few comments on the instructions as there were two parts I found confusing. So maybe what I figured out can help someone else or they can improve the instructions.- to turn off the alarm you need to long-press the center/oblong button- when you click to add a device in the app and it starts searching for a device, you need to press the pairing mode button, which is in the back of the device beside the plug port; there’s no sound when it’s pressed but it does show up in the list eventually

I’ve been using the REACHER R7APP smart sunrise alarm clock for the last 2 weeks now, and it’s genuinely transformed my mornings (and evenings, as I work shift work). Living in Canada where winters mean dark, cold starts, the gradual sunrise simulation is a game changer for my morning wake up routine… No more trauma inducing sudden alarms.Instead, the light slowly brightens with the soft warm tones and colors that you can customize right from the app, mimicking a natural sunrise. It feels so much gentler and leaves me actually feeling refreshed rather than groggy and somewhat angry. The app control is pretty intuitive and simple, connecting to my home Wi-Fi was quick, and I love setting custom routines for wake-up (light + birds chirping or soft nature sounds) and wind-down (dimming lights, fading white noise like rain or ocean waves). The white noise options are fantastic for drowning out city noise or helping me fall asleep faster. Plus, the dimmable display and night light modes are perfect; I keep it on a low warm glow at night without disturbing my partner.Build quality feels solid and fairly premium, it’s not too bulky on the nightstand, and the multiple sunrise colors and sound variety keep things fresh. Compared to basic alarm clocks or even my phone alarm, this is leagues better for sleep hygiene. Highly recommend if you’re tired of harsh wake-ups, worth every penny for better sleep and happier mornings!

This is one of my favourite finds from Amazon! I absolutely love the REACHER Smart Sunrise Alarm Clock! It is basically an alarm clock/white noise machine/and lamp all rolled into one package. One thing I should disclose is that you have to program your wake up and sleep settings through the “Tuya” app, however if you just want an individual light setting or white noise sound you can just press the buttons on the machine to turn them on.You don’t get to customize any personal settings this way though. Before I discovered this, I had been using my Google Home mini to play white noise to fall asleep to, which meant that I had to navigate through various Youtube Music channels to find something I liked. Through the app, you get access to 26 different white noise settings over three different categories (white noises, fan sounds, and nature sounds). There are eight different light colors (red, yellow, cyan, purple, orange, green, blue, sunrise), and you can program the alarm clock to gradually wake you up if you’d like by having the colour dimmed and then full brightness at the actual time you set the alarm. There are five alarm sound settings you can wake up to as well, and you can change the sunrise duration to gradually brighten starting at a certain hour, for those who want to be woken up gently. This is one of my favourite gadgets that I’ve picked up off of Amazon and would highly recommend it for people who like to have full control over their morning settings, or even just how lovely all the white noise sounds and wake up alarms are. The lights are gorgeous as well and pleasant to look at. It’s a beautiful combination to have for those who take their sleep seriously.

I thought this was a pretty cool idea, and I still think it could be great for the right person, it just didn’t work for me. I tried it for a few days hoping I’d adjust but I ended up going back to my radio alarm clock.I wanted to use this without the loud alarm and rely solely on the gentle wake-up light. Unfortunately, having it sitting on my bedside table made me a bit anxious. I kept worrying that if I happened to be facing the other way, I wouldn’t notice it and end up being late for work. Instead of helping me sleep better, I found myself waking up multiple times just to check on it.One morning, when I was facing the wrong way, I didn’t see the light when it first came on. By the time I turned toward it, the brightness was at max and hit me all at once. It’s definitely strong enough to wake you, maybe too strong. It actually hurt my eyes and left that big glowing afterimage when I closed them again. I know some people love an intense sunrise effect, but for me it was a bit overwhelming. The sound options were also a letdown. There are plenty of nice sleep sounds, which wasn’t too bad, but the actual alarm only has five choices. Since it connects to your phone, I expected to be able to use my own music or at least have a wider selection. It feels like a missed opportunity. All that said, I still think the concept is great. If someone sleeps facing the same direction most nights or doesn’t mind a brighter light, it could be perfect for them. It just didn’t fit the way I sleep. I wish it had a bit more flexibility, because I genuinely wanted to love it.

  13. Amazon Customer

I had mixed feelings going into this, but I ended up really loving the actual clock. The sunrise light is excellent and genuinely makes waking up a lot easier and more natural. Instead of being jolted awake, the gradual brightening feels gentle and far less unpleasant than a traditional alarm. The different sunrise colors look nice, and the dimmable display is easy on the eyes at night. As a light and alarm clock, this is a solid 5/5. The white noise options are useful, the build looks clean on a nightstand, and the physical controls are straightforward enough to use without the app.Where things fall short is the companion app. It works, but it asks for a lot of permissions that don’t feel necessary just to control an alarm clock, which made me uncomfortable. It gives off the impression that it’s collecting more data than it really needs to, so I mostly avoid using it unless I absolutely have to.Overall, the hardware itself is great and does exactly what I wanted for better mornings. If you’re buying this primarily for the sunrise light and don’t mind ignoring the app, it’s a really good choice.
