Does What It Is Supposed To Do
First, the company communicates well and took care of an issue. The unit does what we purchased it for, it gives an alert to my cell phone if the temperature in the room where it is gets above a certain point. Keep in mind that it takes a few hours for the temperature to “settle down”. After that it has been fairly accurate. Only reason for 4 stars is it has given me a couple of false alerts, but I’m sure they’re working on it.

unstable, unreliable, incorrect instructions.
i really wanted to like this, but it’s terrible.issues:* instructions are just wrong – the instructions tell you to press the button and wait for the fast blinking lights (which indicates an auto-provisioning in smartlife). the issue is that it doesn’t blink. and you should pretend like it’s blinking slowly and use the peer to peer wifi config method.* it’s not accurate. the temperature fluctuation is high, (swings about 4 degrees) and it’s inaccurate (although it does document that it can be off by 1degree celcius).* the deal breaker is that the wifi is unstable. and once it disconnects, it won’t reconnect. you can’t even reboot it. i had to reset and re-pair it.

The best part of this product is that You can set alarms. My house thermostat stopped working and thanks to the alarm that I received from this device, I prevented my pipes to get Frozen. Why is the hygrometer so inaccurate out of the box?
I am still looking for a good LED hygrometer that I can put on the wall in my guitar room. Guitars need to be kept at certain humidity levels (35-45%) so I want an accurate and easy to read monitor that I can quickly glance at. The LED display is good, but I don’t understand why it comes out of the box 5 to 10% off on the humidity reading. Its nice that it allows to be calibrated to accurate levels, but still strange to me. I have 5 different hygrometers now, and this is the only one that doesn’t agree with the others, out of the box. Also, has to be connected to USB for power, so not useful for wall mount situations.

Flimsy and Bad Instructions
The item is very light weight with no wall hanging option. The usb provided is very short. Worst of all is the connection instructions. I tried for a couple days and unable to connect. FYI, military time only. Bright LED is clear to read but cannot dimmed for night time. It light up the bedroom. It suppose to be a simple and helpful tools but it is not.

This is great for keeping an eye on the internal temperatures when we are not home for an extended period of time. Also, it is easy to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, contrary to other reviews that I have read.

Works fine but had to tweak & can’t change from military time
Purchased to monitor house temperature while we are away. Does a good job. We didn’t want a battery-operated temperature gauge as the more we read it appears the battery life may only go out to 2 1/2 to 3 weeks, so this plug in is what we were after.We found that you must have it connected via Bluetooth and connected via Wi-Fi (both of these) for this to work. Otherwise, the app keeps saying it cannot connect to your Wi-Fi. I’m not tech savvy, so can’t explain it. We tested the accuracy and ability to use the device when away by turning up our home furnace 3 degrees and then leaving to run errands for a couple hours. As the car passenger I watched our temperature rise and then maintained to our wall thermostat setting. We had to calibrate the temperature to -0.5 c but that’s easy in the app settings. Now both temps are the same. The time is displayed in military time and cannot figure out how to change (maybe it’s not possible) but not a very big deal and doesn’t affect the operation of the device. The time is automatically correct once connected which is nice. Nothing to report regarding humidity as not too concerned about that while away and even toggled off the Alarm push Switch for the High and low humidity push notifications.
