I’ve used and researched a lot of at-home microneedling devices, and after spending time with the Dr. Pen M8S, I can honestly say this is one of the better pens Dr. Pen has put out. If you’re debating whether it’s worth upgrading or buying your first serious pen, here’s my honest take.First impression: this thing feels solid. It doesn’t feel cheap or gimmicky. The pen has a good weight in the hand, not too heavy, and the cordless feature is actually way more useful than I expected. I thought wireless was a marketing thing, but it makes scalp treatments and awkward facial angles so much easier.Performance wise, this is where it shines. The motor feels noticeably smoother than older Dr. Pen models. The needle motion feels more consistent and less “draggy,” which matters because skin trauma should be controlled, not rough. It glides well and feels more precise than some of the older A-series pens.I’ve used it for skin texture, fine lines and some light acne scarring, and what I noticed most was improved overall texture and that “fresh” look after healing. It feels like a serious tool, not a toy.Things I really liked:* Strong, smooth motor* Very little vibration in the hand* Cordless battery life is surprisingly decent* Cartridges seat well and feel secure* Easy depth adjustment* Feels more premium than older Dr. Pens* Great for both face and scalp useThe 12 pin and 18 pin cartridges are fantastic. Easy to use.
This thing is great for at home beginners like myself, who just have some fine lines they want to work on! Just make sure you look up some videos on how to properly use it!!!It feels very well made and it’s easy to hold and control. I kept the depth at the .25 and speed at 3 max until I get more comfortable with it. It’s definitely worth it if you just have some light work you want to do yourself. Personally if it was anything more like scars or anything I’d probably go see a pro, but I did watch a few videos that did talk about using it for scars. So yeah just do your research! But this is a very good quality tool, that I would recommend to friends.

Great skincare tool
This is a great tool if you want to take your skincare to the next level. You just need a serum with some slip to it and definitely start low and slow. I used the lowest, slowest setting and I was absolutely red for a few hours and am already seeing more even and hydrated skin the next morning. This is a great value for the money and for ease of use, plus it feels really sturdy and durable.
