The product came to me without the button that changes the degree language. This product has four buttons (five, if you want to count the trigger as a button), and three out of the four buttons are on my specific device. I used a pen to change the degree to Fahrenheit (the gun comes with Celsius by default) despite recognizing that Celsius is superior.Tested the thermometer with a turkey thermometer, because it was the only thermometer I had, and it read the same degree. It works, but the fact that mine came without one of the buttons is a bummer.Will I be returning this? No, because I didn’t already have a thermometer (a thermometer that doesn’t need to be touched).Another thing: I’ve had random activity with the gun. It turns on by itself. It’s infrared light so the only other thing that I can really bring it down to is that it’s probably picking up ghosts. Don’t get me wrong, I already knew my house was haunted (brought in a medium one day and found out they were a little boy). The gun has beeped and turned on in the middle of the night which isn’t the greatest thing when you’re a light sleeper (like me). But before the gun we’ve always had fans turn on out-of-the-blue, missing jewelry that ended up in our backyard, tv’s shutting off and then back on. The gun also has an auto-shutoff feature—beeps once when you press and hold the trigger and then again when it powers off. In my case, I’ll have the gun resting on a table, in the kitchen, or in a drawer (we use it all over the house) and it will beep once as if the gun was going to rest a second time. I don’t think my product is faulty since it already does it’s job pretty well, which is just to read the temperature of people and things (and ghosts?)….Conclusion: I will be keeping the gun, but, sadly, it was missing a piece—reason as to why I gave it 3/5 stars for ‘easy to use’. 🙁

I purchased the Medical Grade FSA-HSA heavy duty infrared forehead thermometer to replace my old digital thermometer under the tongue style. I wanted one that would be a touchless and had a good review rating. After much searching, I picked this one although the price was above my budget, it was on sale, so I bought it. I am so glad I did purchased it. When I took it out of the box, I was reading the instructions. I had it on object and it registered the inside of the house at 74 degrees, exactly what was on my thermostat read at 74 degrees. I feel I made a solid and reliable purchase. I highly recommend this product. I know there are many out there but this is worth the money.

Defective out of the box
As soon as you insert two batteries, “Err” in the gray background gets displayed. I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. Despite being brand new, the device is essentially a paperweight. The power button is completely unresponsive, and the unit refuses to turn on. While the volume buttons trigger a green light, no other functions work.I even went as far as buying a fresh pack of Duracell batteries to ensure it wasn’t a power issue, but it made no difference. This is clearly a defective unit.
