The Best LED Bulbs on Amazon
I purchased several brands of full-spectrum LED bulbs to test, including from Waveform Lighting, GE Sun Filled, Sunsy Shine, Feit, Sylvania, and Norb Lighting, and was looking for the best product based on truly continuous full-spectrum light, no flicker, build quality/longevity, and cost.Long story short, Sunsy Shine bulbs have the best spectrum, best build quality, best warranty, and are truly flicker free even when dimmed and filmed/played back at 10 times slower than real time (unlike the Norb bulbs which make similar quality claims).GE Sun Filled is half the cost for same spectral quality (due to using the same advanced LEDs from Korea), but build quality and flicker are not like the Sunsy Shine bulbs and they aren’t offered in the same range of color temperatures and bulb types. Avoid Waveform bulbs, they aren’t truly full-spectrum like these other three and use more conventional LED technology to produce light.If you aren’t in California, you could also get Soraa Vivid bulbs (specifically their Vivid line, not their Brilliant bulbs). Those are the best of the best available, and come in many more bulbs types, but very expensive. But Sunsy Shine is overall the best.

This light has been great for my chickens
I bought this bulb originally for doing crochet work to see if it would help but I ended up using it in my chicken coop when our other bulb blew. Since putting this in the chicken coop egg production has increased and my chickens seem more content having warm bright light in there that mimics sunlight on these shorter winter days.

Mixed emotions
Bought two to see if they could be used as a replacement for high power halogens in my overhead fixtures, one to try, and one to explore. Since Id be buying quite a few and they’d be going to marginally accessible places it would be nice to see how serviceable and reliable they may be, which is not great. The thermal management is OK but they do get hot due to how they operate, and they use a potted supply which rules out any future repairs which is one reason I like the split design with a plastic base. The ones with linear drivers can be repaired and reused even if they are a bit less efficient. This is straight e-waste once it dies. Another disappointment is despite the LED PCB having tabs and screws for quick attachment, its firmly glued to the base using silicone elastomer rather than heatsink compound so any repairs to the LEDs will be out of the question. I also had a look at the spectrum (bought the 4k ones) and while the inclusion of violet emitters along with the usual blue to pump the phosphors is nice, they still have quite a dip in the cyan part of the color spectrum. Not as bad as some earlier ones, but still in the same neighborhood as most other modern bulbs. The small touch of extra red is nice, but overall with the existing peak in the blue they are not quite that pure white that quality halogens have, but have a tinge of cold, steel blue to them due to the peaking in the blue along with the necessary omission of some of the green-yellow to help balance it. I could live with that, but having to buy 6 to 12 of these (depending on what new fixtures I buy) and have them conk out down the road with no recourse is not great.
