How the product works 
Get Ready for Your Night
Tap the touchpad once for the 8 min mode and twice for the 20 min mode. Check your brightness settings if necessary.

Inhale
Synchronize your breath with the diffuse blue light projected onto the ceiling: breathe in as it gets brighter…

Exhale
…and exhale when it dims. You may find that the exhalation time is longer. It’s intentional. It helps to create the feeling that leads to sleep.

Sleep
At the end of the exercise (8/20 minutes) Dodow turns itself off. You can then settle into your desired sleep position, no need to stay on your back.

Dodow helps unlock the process of falling asleep and speeds it up for 75% of users
However, it would be unrealistic to expect a drastic reduction in the time to fall asleep, e.g. from 2 hours to 2 minutes in your first week using Dodow.
Some users have had to practice for some months (yes), but 75% of them report being able to fall asleep faster than before, on their own!
Only half of Dodow users fall asleep at the end of the very first session but many report relaxed feelings after.

Why choose a blue light?
Dodow is blue light used for good. Its’ light intensity is too dim (< 1 lux vs a screen > 70 lux) to prevent melatonin secretion (the sleep hormone). After much testing, we found that this shade provided the best results in relaxation and helping our users fall asleep.

Can’t I just practice breathing without Dodow?
This will require lots of effort (4sec inhalation + 6sec exhalation), so you may not be motivated enough to do it on your own. Or intrusive thoughts may prevent you from dozing off.
Dodow may seem too simple to be effective but simplicity is the key when re-learning to fall asleep.

Choose your session lenght Try a longer session
There are 2 different types of sessions: an 8 min and a 20 min. Try the 20-minute session a few times before returning to the 8 min. Practicing with this longer session leads to more time to adapt. Dodow triggers the parasympathetic automatic nervous system responsible for regulating relaxation & sleep.

I can’t see the light on the ceiling
If the light projected onto the ceiling isn’t quite right, you can always adjust the brightness setting! Check our video guide for more instructions!
How long should you keep trying?
Dodow helps unlock the process of falling asleep and speeds it up.
However, it would be unrealistic to expect a drastic reduction in the time taken to fall asleep, e.g. from 2 hours to 2 minutes on your first week using Dodow.
I have high or vaulted ceilings
If you have very high, vaulted ceilings or a skylight, Dodow may not work for your bedroom.
The light is too dim even after changing the brightness setting!
A dark environment is essential for sleeping. If your bedroom isn’t dark, Dodow isn’t going to make a difference.
My device stopped working or is erratic!
You should reset your Dodow:
1- Open the device and remove the batteries
2- Place the batteries back, placing the middle one last
3- You will see a flash of light coming from the LED
4- You can now close the device, your Dodow has been reset.

Game changer
I am a flight attendant, so I am used to working and sleeping crazy hours, and in different beds and climates on any given night. This causes my sleep patterns, sometimes to become very chaotic. This has been a game changer in helping to wind down after a long day and be able to get to a quicker quality sleep faster.

Best with a flat, light-colored ceiling. Not so good with “tray” (recessed) ceilings.
Short version: It depends. It could be helpful, with the calming, waxing and waning light. It will depend upon your bedroom environment. With light-colored walls and any ambient light, (e.g. nightlight) it might be too faint.The concept is great, and is similar to the relaxation techniques I have used for years. The product description seemed ideal. When it arrived, I took it into a dark room and tried it. The gentle brightening and dimming was very soothing. it seemed that it would work.Unfortunately, our actual bedroom has a “tray” ceiling (recessed center), with gray accent paint. We could not see the light. With the uneven surface, and slight light from clock radio and air filter, the gentle light from this sleep aid mostly disappeared. There certainly was not enough visible to focus on for relaxation.So, while it did not work for us, if you have a flat, possibly light-colored ceiling, and minimal ambient light, this could be an effect sleep aid and I would recommend it (3 stars). The relaxation technique is what I use, and was sorry that this light could not work on our ceiling, in our environment.

Worth a shot for struggling sleepers
This gadget is a simple yet effective tool for improving sleep. It uses gentle light rhythms to guide breathing and calm the mind in minutes. The app support adds customization and tracking features, making it even more helpful. I’ve noticed I fall asleep faster and more peacefully since using it but it does take a little getting used to. A great non-invasive solution for anyone struggling with restless nights and who need help getting to sleep and staying asleep.

I’m just don’t think it’s for me
I’m sure it is a wonderful product. It appears to be made very well but it just didn’t work for me. Maybe my rhythms are all maybe I just couldn’t get into with it, but I’m sure it will work for others.

The Dodow Plus is a small gadget that promises to make it easier to fall asleep at night. I’ve been using it for about two weeks and find that it does help somewhat. It took a little practice before it felt natural, but did help once I reached that stage. The small Dodow doesn’t take up much space and it’s easy to use. Just tap it. I also installed the LivLab app to see how it might complement the Dodow. However, you don’t need the app to operate the Dodow. The app does not connect with the Dodow at all.The Dodow offers three levels of light, but the highest level seems to work best for me. Even at that, the blue light is still low. The pulses are slightly closer together starting out, then they spread out for deeper breaths as it goes along. The unit will automatically shut off. The LivLab app is nice. It reminds me a little of the Calm app, but there are fewer options. Included are stories, ambiance, hypnosis, along with a range for children if you buy one of their kids products. My favorite recording is Cardiac Coherance and the sounds mimic the Dodow in that you breathe in with one bell and out with another bell. As before, the breathing time spreads out as the session progresses. There is soothing background music for a peaceful experience. You can listen to stories and other options while you use the Dodow if you prefer.Overall, I’m very happy with the Dodow Plus and I really like the LivLab app for the audio version of the Dodow as described above. Good combo, great value.
