The light from this type of bulb works.
I live in a new senior citizens apt. bldg. My apartment is on the side where not much sunlight comes into this apt. even in summer.I noticed the regular bulb in my living room lamp was too bright with glare.And it was low wattage. 760 lumens.Also noticed that I would turn it on and off all day because the light was not adequate.I was not expecting much from this GE natural sunlight bulb.But I could tell the difference right away.With this GE natural sunlight bulb the living room was filled with natural non-glare light.The other bulb light was yellowish and still left some parts of my large living room looking dim.But the light from this new GE bulb does not glare or even interfere with the light from the HD flatscreen TV even during the dayThat’s great.I bought another of same bulb, but slightly smaller for the kitchen.The overhead lamp they installed is way too bright and it glares. So I will be using the GE natural sunlight bulbs in my apartment from now on.These are great light bulbs.Strongly recommend.

Can’t say much about lifespan yet, but it is a pleasant light. Don’t expect full on noon sunlight, but think an hour before sunset instead. It’s not extremely bright and doesn’t shine like a spotlight… it’s a flood.

Not quite sunlight, but close
I purchased this to use for filming. I would like a light that is the same as daylight but this was the closest spectrum I could find, at least with a few hours research. It still doesn’t have quite the same look as sunlight, but definitely a lot better than another light bulb would be for this purpose, so I’m satisfied.

Irritating flicker and buzz.
They were nice for maybe a month but now they flicker pretty badly and right away they buzzed. Not like quick flickering that you have to focus to notice, but very obvious flickering around 5hz or so. For the price I paid for the bulbs I’d expect them to not do that. And it’s not when they’re dimmed, at full brightness they do it. The buzzing I can ignore/mask with a fan or something but I’m pretty unhappy with these bulbs.

Bought three different variations, all had issues with flickering and might not have great longevity
I was looking for a bulb to use with my lamp or in my ceiling light to mimic sunlight without the migraines I get from actual sunlight. I tend to keep my room relatively dark due to recent issues with photophobia and was hoping this would help for me. However, I tried the three bulbs with the floor lamp and the ceiling one, however, perhaps as I received defective items, all three flickered quite noticeably. I made sure the lamp and the dimmer I was using with it were compatible with the bulbs and did a lot of research but was disappointed with the issue.The bulbs themselves, however, excluding the flickering issue, were not bad in terms of brightness and color. They had a warming effect in the room and the different dimming settings were variant enough to get different amount of brightness into a room.If you are considering one of these bulbs, I would make sure to keep the packaging on hand just in case a return is necessary.
