High quality dermaplaning face razor with 2 blade styles
The ZiLORA steel dermaplaning razor tool is much better quality than I expected. It comes with a faux leather case and 2 slide top tins each with different blade styles. Everything is high quality and nicely presented. The tool itself is a substantial steel material. It is on sale at the time of this review and is a great value at the sale price, and even at regular price it is a reasonable value. If you are looking for a long-lasting dermaplaning tool, this is a good choice!I am a middle aged, perimenopausal woman with more than a few hairs growing on my face and neck. I’ve had laser hair removal, but still have plenty of white hairs and even some black hairs growing on my face and neck. I recently discovered dermaplaning razors to help supplement my tweezing. I have a little plastic pink dermaplaning tool that I got with an eyebrow grooming kit. So, when I had the opportunity to try this metal dermaplaning tool out I took it!Wow! This is a huge upgrade compared to the little pink plastic dermaplaner I had. The ZiLORA dermaplaning razor tool is a hefty silver metal. When I hold it, I can feel the quality. It looks like it might be stainless steel, btu I could not find anywhere confirming that, I just know that it is solid silver metal.The blades comes in two little silver slide lid tins. The tins aren’t labeled, but by looking at them you can see that one has wider spaced grooves and the other narrower spaced grooves. I have super sensitive skin, so I have only used the narrower spaced blade that the tool came loaded with. The description says this blade is intended for sensitive skin. I plucked the hairs that I could see and then went over my cheeks, jaw and neck with the dermaplaner. It worked like a charm, gently scraping off dry skin, peach fuzz, and even tackling a few of the course hairs that I missed.The tool even comes in a nice slide out box and has a cream colored faux leather case. Is it weird to suggest that you could give a dermaplaner as a gift? Maybe with other beauty tools and products so the recipient doesn’t think you are dropping a hint. But, if you are thinking of it, this one would be the one to choose. Not to gush, but I just love the quality and size of the box it comes in. I can store the whole set in the box, it is compact enough that it doesn’t take up much more space than the tool and tins would by themselves in my grooming kit storage bag.

Solid handle, perfect angle, super sharp blades
This was my first experience with dermaplaning and it went smoothly. I’ve been wanting to try it for a while but haven’t had the nerve. Turns out, it’s much easier than I thought.With this complete kit, you get 16 replacement blades (8 wide and 8 micro) inside 2 metal slide open cases, a metal handle and a leather-like case. Everything fits nicely into the manufacturer’s retail box that slides open like a drawer with a ribbon pull tab. It’s perfect for keeping everything together and clean when not in use.The metal handle is solid, weighing in at 1.2 ounces on my kitchen scale, and I think it’s the perfect weight for the job because it is substantial enough that I feel like I have good control, but not so heavy that my hands get fatigued while using it. The business end in perfectly angled and allows me to see what I’m doing in the mirror without my hands being in the way, blocking my view of the action.Since this was my first attempt at dermaplaning, I did some research ahead of time. I read that you can perform it on a clean, dry face, or you can add an oil for less friction. I chose to use an oil this time. I worked in small sections, taking quick, small downward strokes with the tool in my right hand as I pulled my skin taught with my left hand. This method worked well for me and I am happy to say that I suffered no irritation or cuts. It was easy to do and I don’t know what I was afraid of.I can’t believe all of the dead skin and fine baby hairs that I had lurking on my face. After removing them, my skin felt so smooth and soft; it’s really never felt so fresh before. After washing off the residual oil, I applied an anti-aging serum and my moisturizer. It absorbs so much faster without all that hair and dead skin in the way, and I think I’m using less product too.Cleanup was simple. I slid the blade out carefully because they’re super sharp, rinsed the blade and handle in warm water and hit them with my hairdryer for 30 seconds. I read a long time ago that blow drying a blade such as a razor keeps them sharp and extends the life of the blade, so I’ve been doing that ever since and I only replace my disposable razor a couple times a year now. With proper care, this kit should last me years, so I think at this price point, it’s a great value.
