    Fast, accurate results
This little oximeter gives pretty quick results, and they’re extremely close to the one used in my PCP’s office. I brought it with to my recent appt to compare it. only 1% difference on the O2% and the pulse was spot on. It also has a little button to flip the display around if you want the bottom to face the other way around. Pretty nifty. Easy to read and battery life is pretty amazing so far!

    Nicely Made
Pulse Oximeters measure the percentage of blood hemoglobin that is carrying oxygen. These digital devices shine red light and infrared light beams onto one side of your finger and measure the amount of light transmitted through to the other side; the difference (light in vs out) is the amount of light absorbed by the hemoglobin (both with and without O2) and this absorption can be converted into a SpO2 measurement. Normal SpO2 levels for healthy adults are 95%-98%, and this is the range where Pulse Oximeter measurements are most accurate. ThermBio claims a measurement accuracy of +/-2% over the SpO2 range of 70%-99%, which is good for consumer-grade equipment. I tested this ThermBio unit and compared the readings to another Pulse Ox device we have at home with +/-2% accuracy. As you can see in the photo, I got a reading of 98% (+/-2%) and a pulse rate of 60 bpm on the ThermBio unit; this agreed well with my comparison device, which measured 97% @ 63bpm. The appearance and build quality of this ThermBio device is very good, with smooth, soft edges and just enough hinge pressure to be snug without being uncomfortable. I like that the kit includes the needed AAA batteries as well as a case and a lanyard. Operation is very straightforward – press the power button, insert a finger, and hold still for a few seconds until a reading is displayed. A few seconds after you remove your finger, the device will auto-shutoff.

    A great quality Pulse Oximeter
This is great to have on hand no matter your health situation. This is a real high quality blood oxygen meter. It comes with a lanyard, BRAND NAME batteries, and a carrying case. The meter is comfortable to use, as the parts that your finger touch is made of silicone. The numbers are large and easy to read and the unit turns on at the touch of a button and off about 10 seconds after you remove your finger. The lanyard, while handy, is very difficult to thread through the hole. I did manage to get it through after some time. Also, the user guide is printed very small and hard to read. You’ll need a magnifying glass or the zoom on your phone camera in order to read it. Fortunately the “Quick Start Guide” gave me what I needed to know to get started. For $20, this is a fantastic deal!

    May save you
May have saved me. I thought it would be handy to have. I was shocked at how low my readings were. Regularly, around 87 or 89. For days. I thought it was broken until I tried it on two other people and their readings were high 90s and matched the meter they brought over.I followed up with my doctor who was very concerned. And got me right in. But it explains a lot I had just chalked up to stress and not sleeping well. For the money, it’s good to just have on hand. It is well made and works straight out of the box.

    Easy to use, seems reliable
This pulse oximeter is easy enough to use that many people won’t need the instructions. I took many readings with it, some within a few minutes of each other and others at different times of day. The top number is the oxygen saturation and the lower number is heart rate in bpm. As far as I can tell the measurements are accurate, and the flashing lights match up well with my pulse. The only thing I found strange is that if you press the button, it turns the display upside down. I assume this is for taking measurements on another person, and it’s the only thing that wasn’t immediately apparent. I like that this comes with a carrying case so I can safely keep it in my purse or a drawer. I recommend this product.

This finger pulse oximeter is so simple to use and gives you an idea of your oxygen saturation. It comes with a pouch for storage, a lanyard if you plan to use it a lot and two AAA Duracell batteries to power the unit.To use, turn the unit on and simply slide your finger into the register (operates like a peg to open) and wait a few seconds to register your pulse and oxygen saturation. The heart rate registers the same as our blood pressure cuff and the oxygen saturation seem correct, although we don’t have anything to verify it against. The units turns itself off after about 8 seconds when not in use. It works just like the ones you see in hospitals.

This Oximeter seems to give reliable readings for both Pulse rate and oxygen levels and comes at a very good price of £20. It actually comes with two AAA batteries included, together with a wrist strap attachment which you can choose to use, and a neat little carrying/storage pouch with a velcro closure. It is very easy to use and a quick-start guide and a seperate, more detailed instruction manual is included. Along the edge of the screen is a visual representation of your heart beat. Be sure to let the Oximeter warm up to room temperature after removing it from storage. I used it quite soon after opening and it sounded an alarm twice, as my oxygen reading was showing below the acceptable normal range. I tested it again after it had warmed up and readings were consistently within normal ranges. Always ensure your finger is placed fully into the device. My partners readings were different from mine and the heart rate was lower. This is what I expected. My partner had a previous heart attack and is now on medication which maintains a fairly steady rate which is lower than mine. I have a somewhat irregular heart rate so my higher reading was expected. I have an on-demand-only pacemaker to cope with malignant bradycardia but normally my rate is generally just slightly faster than most. On one ocassion when talking to my GP by phone, I was asked do a quick check on my pulse rate which I had a bit of difficulty with. Having eventually found a strong pulse rate and saying out the word “one” on every beat I advised to go to the A&E department ASAP.Thinking now about both of us having heart issues, it seems to me now, that this is a sensible device to have at home, not to use obsessively, but to have available when issues of concern may arise. I believe that this would be a useful device for people with a variety of different conditions and as such I am happynto recommend it.
