A reasonably high end plunge for a serious user
If you’ve never done a cold plunge then getting this one will be a little like taking your driver’s ed in a Corvette. This is not an entry level cold plunge, it has inflatable walls that are much stiffer and more reliable feeling than the single layer plastic ones with PVC poles to keep it from coming apart. There’s an included pump, and it works, but I prefer using my stand up paddle board inflator to get it filled.Once it’s filled, it’s kind of a tank. It’s able to keep the ice overnight whereas my old one wouldn’t make it until morning. If you’re buying ice, that could be a big savings.The oval shape allows you to take a more natural tub position, rather than the squat you have to do in the round kind. I don’t have exact volume, but it’s got to be about 50% bigger than the round ones.It’s easy to setup either with the pump or inflator. No big deal there.

NOT 3/4″ connectors as stated: they’re 1/2″ FPT
Seems like good quality, but be aware that the connections are 1/2″ FPT, NOT 3/4″ FPT. My main reason for the purchase was to get a high flow setup, and 1/2″ won’t do that.Probably an honest mistake (the 1/2″ nominal FPT is ~3/4″ outside diameter), but still means it’s not suitable and the description is inaccurate.

Quality Tub
So I have been ice plunging for about two years. I cycle and lift daily and at 54yo what ice tub recovery has done for my body, my workouts, and my gains has been nothing short of a miracle. That said, I have been using a version of this tub that is smaller so when I saw this tub at this price, I jumped on it. I utilize a small air compressor to fill it but you could easily to it with the included hang pump. It blows up to a rigid and solid tub. If, like me, your wife is 5’5″, you will want to look into a spa submersible booster seat. I’m 6′ 180 with broad shoulders and I fit into this tub perfectly. At this price, you can’t go wrong. I utilize a 1/2hp chiller which keeps my water at a perfect 48 degrees year round including in the summer on my back patio here in FL.

Best Cold-Plunge Tub Because it’s Big and Oval – Does Warm Too!
I like this plunge tub better than the small round ones, and, frankly, the last thing I’d ever do is put ice water into a tub and jump into it. But when camping I did put warm (not really hot, just about 120 degrees) water into it and used it for a nice soapy bath. No problem. Didn’t melt the solvent welds holding the plastic together, and didn’t soften the plastic long-term. Also on a warm day the 5 year old and a couple of friends were using it as a refill tub for squirt guns, and jumping into and out of it so it’s durable too. Definitely like this tub best of any I’ve found.
